Hi just asking for some advice I have been on pegasys for 9mths now and on the whole have had very little problems with side effects etc. It has normalised my blood counts. I inject 45mcg on a Friday night due to work in the week but I have increasingly found to more fatigued on the Sunday (36hrs post injection) I am fine immediately and the day after. It is starting to impact my family time as I am so tired. Just wondered if anybody else had similar symptoms with these side effects. Considering whether to change injection day if this continues. Look forward to any advice anyone can offer.

Hi Jen I was out on Pegasys last November after years on Hydroxy - I am under a great team who use Pegasys a lot and was told when I started that everyone is different but each tend to form a pattern that is them on the tired effects - that they see patients that had most effects day after injection, others that are effected the second day after injection (just like you!) etc so as you find how you are effected to - so once settles in to your routine find the right day to inject that the main “effect” day has least impact. So you are not unusual in how the tiredness hits the second day so yes it may help to adjust your injection day! All abit of a game getting used to it isn’t it!! All the best

I don’t get many side effects but sometimes feel a bit tired/achy a few days after injecting.

I inject at weekends so any effects tend to be mid week.

Hi Jen - I've been on Pegasys since last October and yes I still get fatigued. I inject on Sunday night, so like Andy, my fatigue bombs arrive mid week. I take chelated magnesium daily in order to counteract the fatigue. It helps as when I get slack and don't take it, my fatigue is worse.

cheers

Hi Jen, I inject on a Friday night and do tend to feel more tired at weekends. But that has always been the case with me as I use the weekend to relax and recharge from intense and long work weekdays. So it is difficult to distinguish normal tiredness from Pegasys tiredness! I have been on Pegasys for 3.5 years and started at 90mcg. At that dose, I definitely used to feel more tired than usual the day after injecting. But once I switched to 45mcg I stopped noticing it so much - and over time, with more spaced out injections, I don't feel any different anymore. I think time will help: the body adapts and the dose gets reduced/more spaced out. All the best, Susana x

Hi Jen. I have exactly the same symptom. My worst days vary between 36 hours and day three. Sometimes it knocks me sideway. My most recent one has been the worst yet and knocked me for six for four days straight. Recovering today but it was horrible. Lots of pain, splitting headache, which would not shift with anything and dreadful fatigue. Thankfully, today I am feeling a little better and the vile head pain has reduced to minimal. I'm on the same dose as you but now, just do every 10 days with platelets within normal range (for as long as this lasts)! All the best. x
