Hello I was counting my chemo tablets to see if I had enough for my next appointment.
I have 3 floors in my home. So sometimes I leave some in my bedroom.
Then panicked as I only had 4 capsules left.
Panicked and called the Consultants secretary to tell her I was short.
She explained I had enough until appointment day.
Next few days I found the missing ones. Thank goodness for that.
As they had given me 3 months in advance 3 boxes I think it’s a lot of tablets. I will make sure next time I buy a tin box so they all stay together. So easy to lose, so now I’ll make sure I use my weekly tablet box.
Sometimes this can happen to anyone. So treasure your tablets as they give you the exact amount in days and months.
What a crazy me.
Just trying to get used to having to rely on tablets as my consultant said for life.
Aaaah!!!
Relying on tablets the new me.

I remember losing some prescription meds once some time ago. The receptionist at the surgery told me I couldn’t lose them and we had this discussion about me losing them. I had been staying with friends so I guess I must have left them behind but they said they couldn’t find them. Eventually she gave in a let me have some more but it took a lot of persuasion! Since then I keep them all in a specific place at home and use a ‘medicine bag’ when I go away!
When I was first diagnosed with ET the consultant would prescribe just enough meds until the next appointment. However, on one occasion my appointment was a week later than it should have been so I would have run out of the hydroxy. In a panic, I went to the GP and since then I have been able to get it from my local Boots. Much better than waiting for nearly an hour to get it from the hospital pharmacy!
I managed to scatter a whole lot of my pills (not Hydrea thank goodness, but some rather nasty ones all the same) on the kitchen floor on one dreadful occasion, and was down on my hands and knees for ages, peering under the stove and the fridge, and into every dark corner trying to retrieve the horrid things. I was mostly in a panic because I didn't want the cats to find them! I wasn't sure that pills... tested on humans... would be fit for animal consumption!!
