I keep getting headaches right on the top of my head, does anyone else have these, or is it completely unrelated to ET?
Headaches?: I keep getting headaches right on the... - MPN Voice
Headaches?
I get lots of headaches, in specific areas, its not like a "normal" head ache. It is related to ET, but the advice is always get it checked out to make sure it is not something serious, it probably wont be, but get it checked. I didn't bother getting it checked when one day my eyes felt odd, decided to get it checked and found I'd had a minor stroke, so always best to get it checked. You heath care practitioner will understand why you are being cautious. All the best - Raphael.
Hi Liz,
I don’t get headaches. I agree with Raphael, get it checked out. Do you think it might be the medication, just wondering if it’s a side effect?

I also get more headaches with my ET. I had a brain MRI to rule out anything serious. My doctor put me on topimax and it helps.
Yes, I recognise that headache on the top of my head. It’s like someone putting a heavy beanbag on my crown. I suffered from migraines for years and it’s definitely different. Ditto ‘tension’ headaches. For me it was usually a sign I needed a venesection. Or, it just was ..... But completely agree, if it’s a new symptom, persistent and / or getting worse I’d get it checked out.
I get these headaches but mine are on the left side. Not really really sore but constant niggling. Mine also last about 3 days and nights. Paracetamol doesn't do a thing for them and my GP gave me Dihydrocodeine. Sad to say that doesn't work either. Tried it yesterday for the first time.
ET, yes I live with with headaches almost all the time. Imitrex and Excedrin. It’s rare I don’t have a headache
I started getting headaches after my doctor put me on Jakafi for PV. I wake up almost every morning with one but once I elevate my head, it feels better. Once in a while, it lasts all day and is also on the top of my head. Let me know what your doctor says.

I have started headaches since being given Rux as H u stopped working for me.....I think I feel better with Rux and tend to work more in my studio, then suddenly I have to stop ,headache and fatigue....so it could be eye strain or pushing it too much as I feel better, just had another of my constant blood tests,so will see doc after weekend....questions ,questions.
Best to all.Sally
Thanks for the replies, I've had headaches before but never on the top of my head, I've got an appointment with the haematologist on the 27th, so I'll ask then, no chance of a GP appointment before that date. My friend who is a nurse reckons it is a tension headache, I have had a lot of stress lately (or rather more stress than usual!)
I used to get migraines prior to diagnose.
This seems to be resolved.
I keep well hydrated and my headaches are a thing of the past. Keep safe and keep calm.
Hi Lizzi
Yip, I get the headaches you speak of. Usually a ‘normal’ everyday headache will come on around the sides or above my eye, but when I migraine it reduces back into a top of the head ache, feels like I’m bruised and like someone else said feels like I have a beanbag sitting on top of my crown. Paracetamol does didly. I’m now using a relaxation app with a migraine buster setting. Not sure how good it will be during the day but I used it last week before bed and slept right through the migraine which had been coming on strong for a few hours! 😃
Best of luck
Kerry
