Is there a correlation between high HCT and or platelets and ringing in ears?!

Correlation Between HCT and Ringing in Ears
Hi Sklines, I've certainly experienced ringing in my ears and a very thick head when my blood has been thick. But if this is a new symptom for you, it's always best to get it checked out. Kindest regards Aime xx😺😸
I think I have read somewhere that there is a correlation. Also, aspirin can cause this too.
As Aime has already mentioned, best to get it checked out.
Hi Sklines,
I was diagnosed with tinnitus 3 years ago, had a mri scan, no abnormality showing, so best you get it checked out. Apparently if you have ringing in one ear that is worse than two ears as could be nerve damage. Mine was in one ear. I don’t know that it is related to high hct as I have had PV for 12 years now with high hct/platelets and didn’t have the ringing from the start. Mine was continual for months when First diagnosed but now it comes and goes. Having said that, I don’t have it at the moment and my hct is currently the lowest its ever been .41.
Best wishes
Judy
Hi, I have a ringing in the ears, dizziness and migraine like symptoms on my left side when platelets are up. The haematologist keeps saying there are no symptoms but I do have these. Get it checked out though.
Hey Sklines...
I do not wish to alarm you at all...
However, I have had two (2) TIAs, (minor brain strokes), and the Tinitus was present in both ears I believe, prior to the onset of the TIA.
At the time, my platelets were also in excess of 1M.
If I were you, I would definitely take Aime's advice and see a GP ASAP!
In my case, after the event, because they could not take any bloods right away, (I suspect), nothing positive showed up on any of my tests, post the event...
When I had the TIA, (I was in mid sentence during a conversation), and the very first thing I noticed was the slow onset of the Tinitus, before it reached an almost unbearable crescendo, and that was followed by some extreme pain in my head, blurred monocular vision, slurred speech, and paralysis in my right arm.
I recall quite vividly the feeling of being trapped inside my body, and of being unable to control my speech or my right arm, and thinking to myself at the time that the person I was conversing with had no concept that anything was wrong with me, during or even immediately after the fact etc.
It was a fascinating experience, however, one best avoided, if possible...
Best wishes
