Jak2 Negitive Result

I have a jak2 test negitive what does its mean please help me into this matter.

Hi, I’m jak 2 negative also which means we do have that particular mutation which could have caused our Polycythaemia. I was told that I would probably be positive to a different mutation instead which, in my case, was not checked as the treatment would be the same whether positive or negative. If you look up the MPN Voice website, you will find trustworthy information there.

Jak2 negative means you dont have this mutation and the reason for ur MPN is some other mutation .I was also initially tested for jak2, but it came out negative. Now dr. Will check you for other two tests and may be secondary reasons as well.sometimes you tests for all mutations came out negative, like me, I am triple negative ET patient, no secondary reasons. So in that case you can assume that ur MPN is due to such mutation which medical science has not yet discovered. But keep ur spirit high, I was told that being jak2 negative is good thing. Good luck

Thanks you so much dear my jak2 is negitive but my RBC and HGB are count high day by day

I was negative for JAK2 for many years, and then last month it showed up on my blood test at very low levels. So it may be just too low to find or you have one of the other mutations.

When I was diagnosed mutations hadn’t been discovered but subsequently discovered I am JAK2 negative and some other negative also.

Approaching my third decade of ET I can report that my experience is that you have nothing to worry about. And I do believe that it’s goI’d to be JAK2 neg!
