BMB result

I went for my BMB result today and was told that there is a minimal amount of scarring in my bone marrow it's nothing to worry about at the moment! Platelet count is 648 so no need to start hydroxyl yet either! Go back in five weeks for another platelet check! Feeling very relieved.

Good news: and it sounds as though you have a good haematologist. Keep on posting ....

Super news! Really pleased for you. Can absolutely understand how relieved you must feel :) I'm hoping for the same - BMB booked for July 3rd. Fingers crossed!

Quick question please - how long did it take to get your BMB results? I tried to book travel insurance yesterday but they wouldn't quote until I have my BMB results.

Thanks. Jenny

Hi Jenny I had the procedure done earlier in May and I was told it usually takes 10-14 days for the results. I'm going abroad next week and when I get travel insurance, I usually say that I am being monitored for a high platelet count and usually they're fine with that. I've had insurance with Post Office travel in the past and I'm currently with Saga. Good luck with your BMB and results.

So happy for you:) I have not had a BMB; was not recommended:/ Wonder if it would change the protocol of HU. Fingers crossed to lower platelets on next visit!
