Want to know if I can be weaned off of hydroxy periodically just to give my body a break and of course be watched with blood test

Hi Petsch, you must discuss this with your haematologist, do not stop the Hydroxy at all before you have discussed it. Maz

Hi Petch, I’d love to know what your haemotoligist says to that.

I had a count of 450. It remained steady for 9 months. I, with the heamotoligist’s consent dropped 1 tablet a week 12 to 11. Since then I ve had to go from12 rising every 3 months to 17 tablets a week to maintain a count of approximately 400.

Definitely talk to your doc first. I know if I miss one day of mine the numbers start coming back up.
