Has anyone ever gone off hydroxy periodically I’m jak positive and would like a break from meds nce in a while.

Petsch my dr currently has me off hydrea due to macrocytic anemia. Hgb is rising as well as platelets but keeping an eye on them. Not really sure I feel any better yet.

I stopped for the same reason back in November, my HCT got down to .28!

Only off for a fortnight then back on a reduced dose gradually increasing. Last counts more or less perfect.

Trouble is that because of the amaemia I didn't feel noticeably better.

Have a chat with your haemo. A lot will depend on your blood counts.

I suspect your platelets will rapidly increase. Platelets have a short life cycle.
