I know being on Hydroxycarbonide that my immune system is suppressed, and I have been lucky to avoid any nasty bugs so far, but something as simple as a sty in my eye has made me look I have been in a round with Mike Tyson. All under my eye is red and swollen and it's come down my cheek. I just didn't realise what hydroxy does to you.
I go to a bingo in our sheltered housing scheme on Tuesday's and the lady next to me had come in suffering a really bad cough. She sat the whole night coughing with no hand to cover her mouth and all I could think about was "oh no, chest infection coming up". I was discretely covering my mouth and hand. I was really angry that she would be so selfish to bring her virus into a building full of elderly and/or vulnerable people.

Sorry connection disappeared....I have a style thing on my bottom eye lid.I have bathed it for several days with boiled water ,hot as I can bear ,finally it has burst and swellings gone down.My G P did not know what it actually was, gave me anti biotic creme so put that on as well.My optician suggested the the bathing with salt in the water.....third time it has happened in a few months, think when we get down and stressed these things arrive.Try bathing ,hope it works for you
I do agree with your annoyance about people spreading bugs - they just don't think I guess. Shame we don't have a culture like Japan where we'd be wearing face masks!!
I have been busy at work.and got a bit run down.and also got a stye....made me feel awful too. I got eyedrops and antibiotics which worked but i still have residual bump in my lower eyelid.
We need to make sure we look after out wellbeing first as we are a bit more susceptible to whatever is going. I even now move if I end up sitting next to someone that is sniffly or coughing when I take our son to swimming lessons. Also try not to touch your eyes/rub your eyes without washing your hand's first. It's one of the easiest entry points for bugs.
