Sigourney Weaver was in the programme and was diagnosed with PV!
I bet all the viewers, minus a very few, probably didn't have a clue what it was.

Yes, my ears picked up, shame there was no follow up...
It was a very quick diagnosis...I went through quite a few tests before it was diagnosed...if only I'd had the "lovely grumpy" Doc Martin!!!!
I’d love to know why they chose such a rare and largely unknown (even amongst GP’s) illness to diagnose someone on mainstream TV with? Good awareness though.
Yes. It was quite out of t he blue. But I thought the short explanation of the illness was good. Mind you I did wonder about PV, when Martin told her that she looked flushed.

Yes, couldn’t believe it!
No mention of being referred to a haematologist, or it’s a type of blood cancer though, just ‘google it.’ But all the same great recognition for PV.

Sorry i missed it, not enough people know about this illness in fact most GP's dont seem to be informed mine included even my practice nurse i had to explain it to i had high plateletts for about 2yrs before my doctor decided to tell me surely that needs to be addressed....Violet.
Hi all I went to doctors yesterday I have to have antibiotics so ask if it was ok to take when having Pegasys injection for PV the young doctor said I don’t know much about either of those you should phone hospital to check at least she was honest best wishes Poppy 6060
Yup, I was in bed and my husband was watching so he wound it back for me. I truly would not have understood had I not known what it was as it was said so quickly and quietly but he used the Rubra Vera as well. Interesting, maybe someone in the production team has it.
I used to watch Doc Martin but must have missed just that one! Typical...Thx for telling.
Yeah it was good. Her symptoms were true to life too. Kind regards Aime xx😺😺
