Hi there. Yes I have been taking them for nearly a year . Initially I felt slight nausea but was fine after that. With no other side effects ..I feel I have benefited somewhat and feel more upbeat than I did but I do still have odd days that are not so good . I have check ups about every 3 months at my doctors to see how I'm progressing . Hope that helps .

Ah thanks. She is on 100 mg. She has only been on them for two months so I don't know how long they will take to really kick in. Thanks again. Lesley x

My doctor started me on this low dose to see how I got on . It did take some 3 or 4 months to have an effect and it was suggested to increase the dose but I chose not to at that time with the option of upping the dose later on which I'm considering at the moment . I would have thought that your sister would have benifited a little by now but we are all different .

I wish her well and hope she begins to feel better

I have ET JAK 2+. I take Effexor. It has been better than just a SSRI. (Prozac, Zoloft etc.) I always tettered toward melancholy when I wasn't at work. There I was a "Patch Adams". I just mucked through. It took a lot of energy wearing the mask.

I had genetic testing and it explained why I was slow to respond to treatment and never reach full remission.

The test: SLC6A4. My result was: S/S

Maybe you could ask your Dr. NP or PA if testing was available to determine how you metabolize psychotropic medications. I love that I was tested. Genesight by AssureX did mine but testing is much more available.

Since I don't transport serotonin normally I bought 5HTP (precursor to Serotonin) 100mg. That has REALLY helped. It must help the system move toward the norm.

No clinical advise here. The above is my trek of course.

Yeah, they call it "Precision Prescribing" where I live. You gotta ❤️ love that name.
