"Potential of CAR-T technology goes beyond one type of cancer"
Thanks for the link Lainy, had a quick read. Will read in depth tomorrow, sounds very promising.

Yes, I read this too on the news website. Very exciting indeed, and surely a reason for us to feel hopeful.

I too read the article and was suitably enthusiastic, however I then found the following article which is less hopeful for this as a treatment for MPNs:
"Q: Will immune therapy, such as CAR-T therapy, be a cure for MPN?
CAR-T therapy is in the news for treatment of lymphoid leukemia. It is easier to live with fewer lymphocytes. It is much more difficult to get rid of bad myeloid cells without interrupting critical processes for red cell and platelet production.
In addition, there is much less uniformity in myeloid cells, so it would be difficult to develop effective CAR-T for each patient."

Actually, that is an interesting article to read anyway. Still, the news article shows that there are still very rapid developments being made, and as this treatment is developed further there may be some applicability.
