Hi frank, I have PV and I am pestered with night sweats, not every night but 3-4 times a week. They leave me really tired as if I haven't had a rest at all. When I started having them, my haem sent me for a CT scan just to rule out any other reasons for the sweats. This was clear but it was a very quick appointment unusual for the nhs and it had me worried too. My attitude was well it is good to have everything checked out and if there was a different cause for the night sweats at least it could be treated early. I think it is a precautionary measure you are seeing your consultant early but it is so easy to worry. Try not to worry about things which may never happen- easier said than done I know!
Keep in touch with this forum where you will get loads of support and make loads of nice caring friends. Take care, let us know how you get on. Aime xx😺

Hi Frank , , I would be a tad concerned too. But I had a clinical nurse support at my unit who I could ring directly with such concerns. . .I would ring his secretary if you have no clinical support and ease your mind. . . Chances are it won't be owt untoward because believe me if it is you would back quick sharp not 3 weeks. . I bought numerous tee shirts in the worry department over the years all to no avail. . Like our friend Aime says please let us know how you go . . Chris
I have p v last visit to hospital was told after 2hours I needed to have another blood sample taken ! Thought the worst straight away don't panic! To late ------- turns out they lost the first one em misplaced aggggggg
Sympathise, as have bad night sweats, counted up to 34 the other night! Trained self to go back to sleep after each one, but took long time to do this. Haematologist wanted to check that the ET hadn't progressed, because of the bad sweats. But it is o.k. If you check your diet, can also find that certain food and drinks taken in evening make sweats worse. I now can't have wine really at all, even early in the day. Best wishes, Tinkerbell 13
Hi, yes that's interesting about wine. It definitely makes nights sweats and day sweats worse. I just feel awful after I drink even half a glass. Totally agree with our JR about the worry t shirts and also about things like the extra blood sample because one has been lost. I think if the person who phones you tells you why they need to do whatever that makes it easier. You then know and then don't imagine the worst!
Also like JR comment about having someone to contact and ask the question. It is then answered and you deal with that answer. Keep in touch with the good people on this forum. Best wishes Aime x😺
could be a typo.... or he meant 3 and not 8 ..... call his Secretary... probably something simple ... try not to worry, Sue
Well thanks all for support.
seems I got put on a second waiting list and called back to soon.
not cause for alarm. .
