Just curious as having a dreadful time with the "itch" at the moment and have been prescribed anti-histamines?

Sorry I don't why but I know it is a pest!! I had venesection 3 weeks ago and the itch is starting to come back now. I am on Loratedine for through the day and Phenegran at night but even then the itch can drive me mad. The two weeks before my blood is due to be taken off, it vanishes?!!! So I don't know if it is just me who is weird as I would have thought it would be worse at that point. Sudocrem definitely helps the areas which are going nuts, so does extra fluid and trying to keep cool. Hope this helps a bit. Kind regards Aime

Thanks Aime you are right it is a pest. The anti-histamines are working now for me and of course that makes it tempting to stop but won't until I have had another appt with hem. I will try and ask him the histamine question then and report back on it. I know my platelets are unusually high for me at the moment and just wondered if that is the problem but of course I am hoping they are just having a blip. Kind regards Diane

HI, Malaika.

Question for you... I have had a presumed anaphylactic reaction for two or three years, I have always put it down to allergies? I asked my doc could it be connected to my newly diagnosed ET- he said ''probably not'' !! Can I ask is it a common problem to people with MPD's to have high histamine levels?

Open question to the community...Answers on the post card please :)
