hi dingwall,I'm a midwife who also has pvr. the c/s for your breech babe is a routine procedure. just ensure that the obstetrician and anaethetist is aware of your et , your current management and recent blood levels - and if possible have your haematologist as a liason with them. good luck and enjoy your new babe.

Hi Dingwall, I wish you lots of luck with your section, I am told a planned c/s is a pleasant experience, and hope it is for you. I had an emergency section and the staff were brilliant, they know what they are doing and I am sure you will be in good hands. I have ET. Take care and enjoy your baby! x

Hi Malachy thank you for getting back to me - do you mind me asking what your platelets were like at the time and whether you was on any medication. Am very scared of clotting/bleeding too much really my platelets are currently 346 but been on injectable blood thinner as well as 90mg Pegasys once a week and 75mg aspirin daily. How old is your baby now and boy or girl? Take care Becky

Hi Becky, I know it is scary but you will be in good hands and I am sure you have already informed all the relevant people of your MPN . I am no expert but your platelets are well within range at 346. I was blissfully unaware at the time of my c/s of platelets and MPN's, so I didn't have the extra worry you have. I got told after my pregnancy that my platelets were high but didn't think any more of it till I got diagnosed years later! I am just on aspirin at the moment. My son is 9 and I only got diagnosed last year but have been having symptoms for a good couple of years now. I have another son 6 who was delivered normally. I will be thinking of you. Let me know how you are and whether you have a boy or girl when you are settled after your baby is born. Take care, Diana x x x x
