Sounds like a normal migraine to me. Thats exactly how mine are! If you are at all worried though go and see your doctor.

sounds like a migraine to me. I get the eyelid droop and cannot form words and the spoken word is meaningless, which, when it first happened was scary. Migraines do change,,

Tthe advice from mazzy is good --if in doubt consult your dr. do not mess around with your health.

as its unusual for you to experince these symptons with a migraine id contact the national migraine centre for an appointment and with a specialist. these symptons can be usual with a migraine but get them checked and give yourself peace of mind.

also if it is just migraine, it could be your migraines are changing and you need different meds for them!

This sounds like the kind of migrane that I have at times, It is scary and you think at the time its never going to end.. have a little time out for yourself and go and visit a G.P. I really do feel that you might be able to get a preventative medicine that would work for you, I still get very severe Hemiplegic Migrane which involves numbness and the blindness with terrible pain afterwards. I have a medication that I take when I get like this as the preventative was not working for me, but does work for lots of people. The medication name is Rizatriptan. I am not reccomending this for you to take, but just that this has helped me so much.

Good luck, and don't worry too much, as stress can be a trigger of migrane in itself.

Angela

p.s. let me know how you get on

Hi, any changes to your normal migraines especially if they include neurological symptoms as you have described must be checked by your GP, i'm sure as others have said above it is migraine in source but it is important to get yourself checked by your GP as mini strokes can mimic migraine & sould be ruled out, this should not involve a scan just some basic neurological tests that your GP will perform. Good luck & please get yourself checked.

i have the same thing. usually every 6-8months,but had 3 in 3weeks. it freaks me out every time and had to leave work last time, which i have never done before. i have done a topic, but briefly i get pins and needles in my left forearm, hand, and lips. tongue sometimes. when i am reading something, only half the words are there, i feel spaced out, and dont know half of what i am saying. blinding pain usually behind my eye, and left temple. usually lasts 3-4hours. i would speak to a doctor first. if they are no help, see another. all mine said was take tablets and that some people think they are having a stroke.

things i have tried though are cutting down tv, laptop, tea and coffee, more water, early night, taking it easier at work but nothing helped. i would see doctor before a brain scan though. just need to find a nice dr. let me know how you get on
