Odd migraine experience.: I often get... - National Migraine...
Odd migraine experience.
Sounds like migraine to me. Do you have a reason to think it isn't migraine?
Only that it isnt like my "normal" migraines that are usually more frontal.
Ask him to do blood tests for autoimmune disease they are cheap to do... and will rule out those. Also a test perhaps for lyme disease all these can cause problems, and can give in the main a yes or no answer, if this is losing you time at work and quality of life, you need tests... and of course the National Migraine Centre might come up with some answers for you. Especially if you take along the tests you have already had. Mary F x
Come to the clinic with any test results that you have had and we shall get a diagnosis and personal treatment plan drawn up for you to treat the pain and nausea/dizziness and develop a strategy to reduce their frequency and severity. It is common for people to get more than one type of headache so this may explain why these headaches are not like your 'normal' ones.
If you are worried however do go back to your GP.
All the best.
Thanks for your responses everyone, yes, I have autoimmune diseases,I have had treatments with various medicines but have come to the conclusion that this does not really address the problem,I will certainly consider that option.
Hi there
Do you also get face pain with that pain above the ear?
I frequently get what I call facial migraines: the pain will be on one side: around the eye, jaw, teeth and often the bone above the ear which you describe and the ear itself. I believe this type of pain is from the migraine affecting the trigeminal nerve. In some ways this is the worst pain I can get, it makes me want to cry. It seems very similar to what you experience.
My comments are only to share my experience of migraine, please take the experts advice..
