Does anyone know what happens next, if Aimovig doesn't work? I'm into my third month of taking it but so far haven't noticed any improvement in my migranes. The migran e nurse is phoning me next week for an update and not sure if she will continue the aimovig, if I say it isn't working, or haven't I given it long enough yet? Thankyou

Aimovig
Hi they tend to only allow you to have the CGRP medications for 3 months if there’s no real improvement they won’t prescribe any more due to the cost of them. I have tried 3 of the injection treatments for my migraines including aimovig and had no improvement so only had 3 months of treatment.
I'm sorry that Aimovig is not working for you. I was given a leaflet when I was first given the injections which did say that I would not be offered a different CRGP if this one didn't work but there are lots of people from America who have posted that they have responded to a different CRGP so I would argue hard for that. Hope you get something that works soon.
Qulipta (tablets / capsules) is under review and UK regulators (NICE) will make a decision in about 3 months time. If approved you may ask for it although a nurse won't be able to prescribe these but a neurologist can.
