I would ask about what supplements would help. Research shows, most people who have magnesium deficiency so how much would help? Does he recommend any other supplements?
Migraines have many weird symptoms, so these things you experience are weird for normal people but not so much for migraineurs. If you google hemiplegic migraines you may find a lot of those symptoms similar to yours.
And have they done any tests to rule out other things?
It is wise to always ask if they done right thing
Don't want to talk personally but just two things
The blacking out? Fainting? Whilst can be migraines may be due to another cause ......low BP low sugar epilepsy and in someone close to me case was due to a heart arrhythmia a rare one. So if they haven't done basics ecg holder monitor.....èg ....bloods and brain mri?
Do you go on to get migraine .....
All the symptoms you've described on the otherchand do and can happen in migraine usually one with aura........especially if one sided may be hemiplegic migraine attack?
Latrimogine is one drug give for migraine with aura and neuropathic pain by neurosurgeon.....
I am not medically qualified or offering advice just personal experience
Ask for second opinion but think carefully do you have any other symptoms of migraine ?
Migraine causes and mechanisms some knowledge out there and good specialist neurologist in subject and clinic so there is certainly hope of getting help treatment options....
Latrimogine quite hard to get so from that point they are taking it seriously
My main point is I think you need to think of medical info carrying card to say what happens incase found in street by someone and you need help....please be aware that this sysmptom of blacking out ...not being able to walk may lead to falls especially at night or if near stairs ....could have secondary consequences.....so your safety is of paramount importance
May be o.t assessment of your home may be useful and a referral to migraine specialist in regional migraine clinic may be useful .....only answering cos saw your post......
Obviously don't know anything other than I read always welcome post me privately...
In the mean time ......its trial and error ...Latrimogine may help .....and there may be other options for yourself .....but particularly pay attention to this dropping to the ground not walking and speech difficulties.....
thanks so much for this, I’ve never heard of the medical information carrying card. I’ll check that out. Yes, they ran an MRI, CT, heart tracer for 48 hours and heart ultrasound- all came back clear.
The Latrimogine is very helpful.
I think my main trigger is my job- it’s a very stressful and toxic environment.
And possible referral to o.t re home assessment re dangers re falls etc
Good luck
You are not alone in these symptoms in migraine with aura but always good to get throughly checked out
Hope you get on well 🙏
All the best .....others on this site are good knowledge and good source of info and support....it is hard condition to live with but hope you find meds that really help things much more positive now than in years gone by just hope you under specialist neurologist and looking for dangers if and when you drop......
As may incur injury .
All the best didn't really stick within remit but tried my best first and second time!
Forgot to say I have h.m Following thread I do take mag and b vit but worth checking vit d b12 deficiency or low ferritin too....
None of your symptoms unusual for us migraineurs .......but would just especially the dropping ...do you black out ..faint....even though that can be part of aura .....wise checking eeg ecg sugar levels mri
Obviously they'll try latrimogine if that fails they'll try something different 🙄
Drop attacks with tingling hands, slurred speech and vertigo.
Although vertigo and drop attacks immediately suggested Menieres disease to me (because I have it) your other symptoms indicate something else is going on, and you need to get all of it investigated.
Here are some possible explanations from a physician specialising in audio-vestibular medicine, who nonetheless acknowledges a range of possible causes of drop attacks dizziness-and-balance.com/d...
are these symptoms after taking the drug ? So many side effects but if job stress you should change your job as the stress is causing the hormone cortisol which can destroy you , try exercise and yoga to help but main thing is to do something that makes you happy not sad
