Can anyone advise which supplements are worth trying for migraines and how much? I saw on the Cleveland’s clinic site the mention of riboflavin, magnesium and coenzyme q10 but it didn’t say how much and if suitable for a 14 year old.
My daughter has suffered migraines since the age of 3 and is about to start studying for GCSEs. I am wondering if it’s worth trying supplements as not much to lose.
Apologies if this has been asked many times before- my search function doesn’t seem to be working.

I was advised to take 400mg of b2 a day unfortunately I couldn't tolerate it bc I have Bladder Pain Syndrome and it made it much worse, but I have had 2 children so hopefully that would not effect your daughter.
If you want to take a look at a reliable source of the dosage (including B2, Q10, Mg), there is a charity in the UK and their website has the information, you can refer below:
If they are suitable for a 14 year old is a difficult one to answer. You can ask the manufacturer or the charity, often they have information.
Apart from these, some people find "Feverfew" useful to reduce migraine severity. 1000mg Feverfew is usually advised by the manufacturer, I am not sure what the dose could be for a 14 year old. I hope she finds some relief from these. Please note - you need to try at least for 2 months to see the full impact. Quite often, these preventatives provide immediate relief but after a week or two, the effect disappears. You should continue for 2 months to make a full assessment.
I was told by 2 private Neurologist that I could be safe at v 1600 MG daily. I take 1 magnesium glycinate 500mg tablet am, lunch, and pm. This dose and type have saved my life. I also take 1 tablet am 300mg and 1 tablet pm of Feverfew. I ha e trier a lot now other supplements and this has been the best for me.
