I had the astra zenica vaccine in feb, im in a medical menopause that stops my migraine as they are hormone related, however this vaccine has left me with frequent migraines every 3 weeks and my gp said that it’s because of the vaccine xx

Yes, my migraines have been affected by the AZ vaccine too. I had just gone into a good phase (on Flunarazine) and I had 10 good days and then I had AZ vaccine and was back to daily headaches and migraines. Frustrated beyond words!! Let's hope we get out of ths phase soon!

Hi, sorry to hear this, it’s so disappointing when we go backwards after being relatively well isn’t it? I had the Pfizer vaccine and was ill with migraine every day for six weeks and then it settled. I’d temporarily stopped taking the Candesartan preventive last year but then started taking it again after the vaccine. After the six weeks as I said before they started to settle. I had my second dose and didn’t have any affects at all. Hope this is a temporary “blip” for you too- good luck.

Hi , may i ask how they tested and proved hormonal as Ive always believed mine hormonal as acute ones were at their worst aged 20 and 48.Had preventative meds for 10 years that stopped working 14 months ago. Had permanent chronic head pain since and nothing works. Both the gp and the neuro have refused to refer me to endocrinologist.

Have spent 4 k up to now and am trying to decide wether to throw some more money at it by seeing an endocrinologist. Am 59.

Pfizer first jab made my existing pain rocket for 27 hours . Second jab ok . Good luck I hope youre better soon.

Sounds like you need a migraine Specialist, they only treat people with migraines. Please listen to the "Heads Up" podcast. They ste 2 UK Specialist that are women. It's free and I have learned so much from listening.

I've had both my AZ vaccines and both induced status migrainosus. The 2nd jab made me ill for about 3 weeks until I managed to break its cycle.

I've still got residual tinnitus in my right ear and seem more susceptible to getting status migrainosus than I used to be. :-(

There was a BIG thread about AZ problems on Twitter about 6 weeks ago and the 3 big side-effect symptoms seem to be;

Headache,

Sore arm,

Tiredness.

BUT - those who have an underlying condition had a problem with the condition being exacerbated e.g. there were someone I was speaking to, whose wife had similar symptoms to me and it was suggested, by her GP, that it was her hayfever symptoms being exacerbated by AZ.

I "Yellow Carded" my symptoms - so reported my symptoms on the adverse symptom reporting scheme & dropped my GP a line to ensure I wasn't given AZ again.

Here's the link for the adverse symptom scheme;

yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

Hopefully, the symptoms will fade with time. But I'd think about trying another vaccine when "booster time" comes around... ;-)

I've been virtually identical to you. 4 weeks of permanent migraine after both AZ jabs, alongside low blood pressure and slow heartbeat ( resolved now) and still got low level tinnitus. Like you, I shall be asking for an alternative if booster's are required!
