Is fremanezumab/Ajovy available now on NHS? Candesartan really helped for about a year but has stopped working for me.

I just got my first ajovy injection 3 weeks ago on the NHS. It was brought forward as they had stopped our Botox since Covid and bc you inject it yourself we would still be able to get treatment if there was second wave.

They said they would know if was going to work by the third month so I've got a while to go. Got to have the next injection soon though. I had to inject my own stomach which is disconcerting but I was so happy that I was getting access to this new drug it's a small price to pay. I have no income so I'm completely dependant on the NHS.

It is, but first you need to get an appointment at the hospital. I've been waiting since May 2019 for one.

Thanks Rosie. I am under the National migraine clinic ..i think you would get an appointment sooner from there perhaps? Although it is private and expensive they are fine for us to pay a bit each month to spread the cost. Highly recommend them! So much better than the headache clinic at my local hospital. All good wishes

Thanks for the suggestion but I've just been made redundant so private is definitely not an option. I'm glad you're able to use them though. They sound brilliant.

They are brilliant, yes. I'm on a pension...I just paid £30 per month for a while, but I do appreciate every penny counts when you are in that situation. Hope you get another job soon and an appointment for the migraine which is helpful!
