Vestibular Migraine Explosions

I have chronic vestibular migraine but in the last 3 months I have suffered what I can only describe as explosions in my head. Two of these were ‘big ones’ and knocked me off my feet. Three others were moderate a bit like heavy slaps to the head.

The neurologist I see says this is not abnormal for the migraines but wanted to ask fellow sufferers if they could share their experiences.

Thank you

my migraines do vary in intensity - few months ago I had a couple that laid me up for days but mine aren't vestibular.

You might find the heads up podcast on vestibular migraine interesting - series 1 -episode 9

Thank you for the reply. I have listened to this podcast previously and though it was good. It may be helpful to listen again as my symptoms have stepped up a bit!

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I have vestibular migraines. Occasionally I do get what I have described as head explosions. It really feels like an explosion has happened in your head, very strange sensation, which then leaves me feeling very tired. It is a scary feeling. Luckily I don’t get them often.
