Hello Ladies and Gents!

New here, and wanted to say hello. I suffer from really bad migraines. Does anyone have suggestions on what I can take? Nothing seems to work for me. Thanks for any information.

Life has really changed for me... I was getting migraines almost daily..Now it has been 3-4 days and I have only taken 1 dose of OTC tension headace medication.

A few things I am trying... I have roll on peppermint oil so when I feel that 1st twinge of pain I roll it on the back of my hand a slowly smell it and I can feel it make a difference. I am now trying to drink peppermint hot tea ( caffeine free) in the afternoon right when I need the pick me up.

But what has really made a difference is Feverfew 3x daily ( at 12pm I feel it come on and I take one and it helps a lot). This has taken 2-3 months to work.

I have also changed my magnesium to glycinate ( I take thos 2x a day) and that has made a huge difference. I drink lots of water and eat regularly.. I also eat almonds when I feel the pain. When it gets really bad, I use ice.

Most of these ideas I learned from:

They have helped me so much.

Hope these help! I also hope you find things that world for you. If not keep searching.

Good luck

Hello there. You don't tell us if you have already seen a specialist or the medic you already take. If you haven't seen a specialist, you need to get your GP to refer you to one ASAP. GPs in the UK can't really help you with migraines, even if they try to or think they can. Migraines are serious stuff and it is only now that I have been made aware that it is a 'neurological disorder' that needs serious treatment as it is not curable. The sooner you tackle them with your specialist, the better the outcome will be. Do let us know where you are at with what you have already tried. :)

Depends what you mean by 'migraine'; causes and also the symptoms of migraine are hugely varied, ranging from a bad, one sided headache right up to stroke like symptoms where you 'lose' one side of your body. I used to get aura migraine at least once a day, but I gave up dairy for another reason and they went, so for me it was surprisingly simple, though I still get one sided headaches periodically. See your GP if you haven't done so already.
