Anyone on here that takes Amitriptyline please read....

I have been taking Ami for some time, managed to get up to 75mg dose daily which is making a big difference to the headaches. As I have increased the dose I have been prescribed 10mg tablets and 25mg so I'm careful which pack I'm using at a time as I need to take 3 x 25 or 7 x 10 (if I took 7 x 25 I think I'd be unconscious!) So, I have just gone to take 3 x 25 and they are yellow tablets BUT I'm sure I took 3 blue tablets yesterday from a box that was labelled 25mg tablets? Now I'm confused, if I have been taking 30mg for the last few days (3 x 10) of are different brands different colours? Can anyone help me out here????

Can't help you huni, mine are all 10mg in original packing... call the pharmacy tomorrow...x

Hi. I checked with the Pharmacist this morning, 10mg are blue and 25mg are yellow, which means for the past week I've been taking 30mg daily instead of 75mg as I must have popped the wrong pill into my organiser! I haven't had any side effects or bad headaches which seems odd as most people who lower their dose notice a difference!

Well that's a bonus 😁 30mg is your working amount, you don't need 75mg then.. Glad you had no side effects 😁

The leaflet in the box should describe what the pill looks like for each dose. , so even if different makes have other colours you should be able to tell. Hope this helps.

I had the same 25mg (yellow) and 10mg (blue) I would think you have taken 30mg instead of 75mg. I’ve been taking 75mg and in the last month had 15 days migraine
