I'm sure we've all seen similar stories before but worth a read for those who are yet to find their triggers?

Migraines caused by food intolerance?
I saw this yesterday and I'm thinking that we may try to follow a keto diet and cut out bread, pasta, rice, pots and sugar and see how we get on. Will let you know.
Hey Spinnaker, Keto is really drastic! I'm not saying you won't stick to it, but they are some major foods to be cutting out. Why not try gluten first....although I haven't found any decent gluten free bread, most gluten free pasta is OK. Giving up cakes and biscuits is a blessing, that cuts out most of your sugar! Rice is gluten free and can be consumed in small amounts. I avoid anything carb at breakfast time and stick to eggs, or fruit and yoghurt and I had seen a reduction in headaches, as I had said earlier in the thread though, if I do go back to old ways with bread and normal pasta this really did make a difference to how my stomach felt and I've had more headaches definitely.
I'm doing keto at the moment it's hard, havn't seen any changes in my migraines yet but I'm also getting used to wearing glasses for the first time and I've had a job change lately that's made my migraines worse again.
The only thing I would say is make sure you remember to drink plenty of water on keto. Xx
Nothing his me faster or harder than eating rotisserie chicken. It must be the MSG in the spices. I'm literally afraid of rotisserie chicken.
Sugar binges (raw cookie dough... yum) also take me down. Sugar in moderation is fine. It's the drastic change in body chemistry caused by large amounts of sugar that leads to migraine. Or anything that causes a drastic change really.
I don't believe that eating sugar causes migraines. I have over the past 20+ years of suffering with them have really done it all. Right now my son is on the SCD (simple Carb diet) so I have cut way back on everything processed and I have had MORE migraines than ever before. I wake up every single day in pain. In the past I have charted food and eliminated things and this is when they are worse. I have to eat what I am hungry for and never skip a meal. I sleep almonds with me and this has helped me a lot. I have also been told by a number of trained Specialist in the field to feed my cravings or else I will get a migraine.
Best of luck
Hi, thanks for this. For me, onions/garlic are triggers, and they’re hard to avoid!
Thanks for sharing. We are what we eat. Our gut contains millions of organisms that process our food. If we radically change our diet, we have to amend our gut bacteria. When they are threatened or die off due to diet change, they cause pain, bloating, hunger, headaches. So, changing diet is only 1/2 the equation, which is why many get unsatisfactory results.
You sound very knowledgable Aberlass "So, changing diet is only 1/2 the equation"......what other advice would you give?
