I have suffered migraines all my life from teenager years for over 30 years

They have got worser in the the last year effecting my home and work life.I was prescribed 50mg sumatriptan which does help with the migraine pain if taken once the aura lights start mine being the zig zag lines straight away if you wait too long the medication does not work.

But I was getting more migraines nearly every day .so went back to the doctor he prescribed me 10mg Amitipyline on Friday 6th July so far no side effects

Today Sunday 8th July at 1030 I get the aura lights telling me the migraine is about to start but it only lasted for a minute usually the lights last 15 minutes then the pulsating pain starts and the vomiting

Then suddenly the lights went away and there was no migraine I was really amazed how this medication has worked for my migraines

Hello Nas420. I take Rizitriptan at the on set of a migraine,. It usually works pretty well, except it only last from 6 to 12 hrs, sometimes less. In the mean time I only get 9 pills a month, I m unfortunately taking easily 3 to 4 exceed tin a day. It helps in between needing to take another Rizitriptan. I tried Amitriplyine for awhile at night. I do think it helped some, but it made me ravenously hungry. So most people gain weight on this drug. I wish you the best. It's hard for all of us. God Bless!

Amazing it worked for you so fast. Tried it for a week and quit because of the side effects.

I was told not to expect it to work sooner than a few weeks.

Good luck in the future and keep us updated!
