Hi I’ve been suffering from ocular migraines for about 3 years. Have had about 6 over the years and my vision goes blurry and I see zig zags. Slight headache after but nothing painful. I have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation but have been told the two are not related. My issue is I’m due to go on holiday in June to New York and am worried about flying. I really want to go but don’t want to be ill on the plane. I’m not on medication. I went to my friends when I first had the moment grains and was given migraleave but by the time I had another episode they were out of date!!! Has anyone flown who has suffered with headaches. I’m 41 ( did go to drs recently as thought I was going through menopause me am not!). Please help. Thanks

Hey! So I've been a migraine sufferer for years but they really hit hard midway thru my last pregnancy when I was 36. They went from 2-3 a week to daily sometimes for hours and sometimes for days about 2 months after I gave birth. Mine are intractable without aura and always started with a throbbing pain in my left eye and continued all the way to the base of my neck and always only on the left side. I'm under care of a neurologist who specializes in migraine and currently get botox every 84 days, can't take triptans so my rescue meds are cambia, midrin, Norco and tizanidine.

Now for the part that may help you. starting with a question- how often do you have your eyes checked? I go annually especially since I'm high risk for glaucoma (my pressure in my left eye is borderline. They gave me alphagan eye drops to try to see if they help with the throbbing pressure and it was amazing how instant the relief was in my eye. I still had the rest of the migraine to contend with but taking the ocular pain away helped tremendously.

My eye doc diagnosed it as "ocular hypertension." If you haven't checked into it you might give it a try. They gave me a sample that lasted just over a month (1 drop in left eye 3 times daily) and I haven't had the eye pain since. and I'd berm living with that throbbing pain/pressure for several years. It felt like someone was trying to shove my eye out of the socket from behind.

Good luck to you and sorry for the novel. just wanted to give you some background. I'm happy to answer any questions you have of this sounds anything like what you have been experiencing.

I have been getting almost daily headaches for the last 4 years and have flown 3 times a year. Doesn’t make any difference to mine.
