Reduction of medication - results?

Hi everyone. I recently reduced my dose of propranlol from 160 to 80 per day. The aim was to come off these completely as I was unable to sleep which was causing my headaches to be worse. However, I have noticed that reducing the dose has helped with the sleep and seems to have helped with headaches - I havent had to take any other pain medication for over a week now which is amazing for me.

I am confused though because I started out on 80 per day and had to increase it because it wasnt working!

Why would reducing back down now suddenly work?

Thanks

Gale
