I have a hissing (and pulsing) sound most of the time - have it right now - sometimes ringing - a high pitched whistle - sometimes a short loud piercing whistle with a sensation of pressure through my ear and into my head. Long standing migraine and historic neck problem. I don't know for sure if the ear sounds are due to the migraines but I assume it's a nerve problem which is probably connected. Saw an ENT specialist - not interested, didn't want to know, looked in my ear canal: "normal".
Just FYI, according to the Pernicious Anaemia Society, tinnitus is one of the symptoms of B12 deficiency most people complain of.
Thanks, I tried pamelor 20mg and it did help my neck pain and headaches but made my ringing louder and actually the H louder unfortunately. This all started for me with neck issues ( cervical dizziness about 6 months ago) the only thing that stops everything in it's track is Xanax low dose and taking magnesium. I will look at the b12 thing as well. Thanks!
I haven't experienced the hissing sound however I do get bouts of Tinnitus and excruciating, vile sickly neck pain with the migraine. Currently I'm trying gentle Beginner's Yoga (youtube tutorials) and thinking about a course of Acupuncture. I find High Strength B Complex and Magnesium offers some preventative effect.
Hope you find some relief.
