Hi! I'm Licy and I think I may have cluster migraines, I have episodes sometimes for about a week I would have extremely painful migraines in my left side right behind my eye and would be vomiting and sweating and crying because it's so bad, painkillers don't help at all and its soooo painful I can't even describe it, anyone else?

Hi there and welcome 😅 has your GP diagnosed you? I know the pain can be horrific but your GP can help you manage them with meds specifically for your type of migraine.

It's important you have a diagnosis. You'll find this group very helpful in understanding and coping with your pain 😃

Hi Mayabellie

I also suffer from cluster headaches from march-august. One of the most excruciating pain syndromes ever. I'm on diazepam and propranolol for mine. I use hot and cold therapy and a u neck device, which is like a tens machine for your neck. I've also received my first lot of GON blocks and told that if these fail to reduce the pain then they'll give me oxygen therapy. Also make sure you are getting enough magnesium and vitamin D.. Hope this helps.

Good luck, Sarah xx

Yes go to your dr, Triptan medication will definitely help, that's how I used to be, I would ask for scan of head too to rule out anything nasty,

Hi, a correct diagnosis is essential for your treatment going forward - cluster headache and migraine are two very different conditions so you need to see a neurologist who specialises in primary headache conditions. Your GP will refer you and I wish you the best of luck in getting the correct treatment.

I'm so sorry for your pain and I feel for you. I also get the migraine behind the eye plus the back of my head feels like it's going to explode. Any type of movement makes it worse....its been so bad that I can't cry because that would make it worse. I hope you make an appointment go to get a good diagnosis and a Triptan. There are so many options out there to help you. Unfortunately, Ive had these migraines as far back as I can remember and haven't found any meds that work for me. I'm on my 5th round of Botox which doesn't seem to help.

This group will be a great resource for you so keep asking questions.

Good luck!

Hi. I too suffer with the damn cluster migrains. I was lucky to get 2 pain free days a week. I seem to have them under control a lot more now though. I had a daith piercing last November, ( that definitely helped) I take magnesium citrate, glucosamine , cod liver oil, evening primrose oil and feverfew, I have given up tea, coffe, fizzy drinks, alcohol, bananas and chocolate, I use a Chi machine twice a day and do my neck excercises. I was advised to have a cup of coffee in the evening as my headaches always start early hours of the morning, funnily enough I think that is helping too. Now on top of all this if I feel I have one coming, I take my sumatriptan and co-codamol. Mine are now less frequent, don't last as long and no where near as intense. What is actually working I'm not sure, it could be a combination af all and it's taken me a long time to get control of my life back. Hope this helps, keep trying different things as what helps one person, may not help another.

I am similar with your case- migraines behind the eye and my left hand side. I also am terribly sick and Vomit a lot, sweating and crying to try and relieve the pain.

others on here are very helpful and as stated- what works for one may not work for another as each symptom is different.

I would recommend seeing a neurologist and talking to your gp, sumatriptan is probably the primary tablet given to suffers at the beginning, then the ball starts rolling.

the Daith piercing seems to be a good start too- inexpensive and I've read on the internet too that it helps a lot of people. I'll be getting mine after Rahmadhan.

keep us up to date with any results, and we'll try and help :) xx
