What are your symptoms? Has he/she said Hemiplegic Migraine? As this can behave in a similar manner to another condition. Mary F x

Hi, I have experienced numbness in various areas most times I get a migraine I had one really bad one at college and it was like I was drunk speech slurred and could not seem to put my thoughts into words. I believe the symptons are not that rare as I also get distored vision and a metalic taste in my mouth. Lights seem weird and i can not tolerate too much light or noise. Hope this helps i take syndol to help me relax and am trying imigrain.

Your aura symptoms sound pretty identical to mine, I get a weird tingling down the whole side of my head&face or down the whole side of my body down into the leg. sometimes this is kind of a pre-warning of an attack and sometimes it occurs in isolation.

Having trouble with words is annoying! feels like I'm dragging my brain through wet concrete

Syndol Is amazing, once you can just relax and drift away, because of the muscle relaxant in it, but undortunately the factory has burnt down and is no longer available or so I've been told in various chemists. I am gutted it does calm and relax me when I've had a really bad day of symtoms. I get numbness and tingling around my mouth and spine neck unsually a 1st sign that a migraine is starting, to try and continue work etc, I use Migralieve Pinks and asprin during the day tho, no drowsy effects. It can sometimes slow down the sickness, dizziness, vision disturbances and tends to dull the pain. I have Basilar Artery Migraine so I cant take triptans such as Imigran, etc.

I get numbness in my tongue and sometimes my fingers when I get aura, I take doxepin daily and Paramax when an attack strikes. I manage about 4 months before having several attacks and then have to go back to taking none for a month, which is hell but my body gets used to taking it, i have tried upping the doseage but it doesnt work or agree with me. Then i go back on doxepin and it works within a week or so. Its the Only thing that works for me. Tried alot of other meds as I've suffered with migraines since being 14 and I'm now 37.

Ladies,

I think the real truth is that these are all symptons of the same problems but the Doctors do not seem to know enough about this problem or there is not enough interest to find out. I am 47 and have suffered with these from the age of 6. I have heard that Syndol will be back on the market Thank God and I cannot see why other pharmacutical companies can not use this it can also be good for Tension etc...

that is my moan over!!!!

With regards to Syndol - I had a similar problem a few years ago when one of my favourite over-the-counter pain relievers was temporarily unavailable. A pharmacist told me the company making it had been taken over but the new company weren't allowed to just start making it because you just can't do that - it's something to do with licensing agreements.

But this Syndol stuff sounds interesting, I may need to investigate it!
