I get migraines quite frequently, and really deep ones that last hours , I get the pain at back of my neck and around my eyes and front of the head , I don’t get aura but I do get very muffled hearing and tinnitus , even tough its muffled it’s very loud sharp like paper being scrunched, I recently had unrelated scans, ct and mri and they are clear , here’s the odd bit , they always come on around 1pm I can sometimes tell I’m going to get one when I wake up , it either turns into one or just a thick head feeling , I take a lot of meds in the morning and wonder if they are having some sort of effect, but on the other hand I can go 10 days without a migraine and then a run of days where I do get them . I’ve tried so many things to try and alleviate symptoms but only get more confused .Anyone’s out there with a similar pattern or can give me some input going forward.
Thanks Col .

This is a very common pattern in the chronic migraine community. I have roughly the same amount of headaches most months but they won't come in a particularly discernable pattern.Although mainly manifest in the morning they can essentially come at any time.
I've had chronic migraines for 30 years, but only in the last 3 have they been triggered by barometric pressure. Its maddening, you'd think you'd understand them in 30 years but they're still doing weird things now 🤷..
I’ve had them on and off for 36year after a brain tumour , they never really bothered me that much , but in the last 5year been awful , I try lots of diff methods and think ah I’ve nailed it when I’ve been clear a week or two then bang off we go again , neurology can’t even work them out .
I've had about 20 different treatments now, I have very bad years and not so bad years but the longest I've had without them is almost 3 weeks. They are generally much milder with treatment though at least. I should think a brain tumour complicates the process further.
The general rule of thumb is to try and create a calmer less excitable brain and that should raise the threshold for triggers, but obviously that's easier said than done and can lead for a very boring existence!
I get migraines early in the AM, as a matter of fact I am sitting here at 3AM waiting for my Excedrin to kick in. The pain is from left side base of skull radiating up to temple and around left eye. Sometimes just temple. I have tinnitus too but that is constantly. I've had these migraines all of my adult life - I'm 62. I've tried so many things, have eliminated foods to avoid triggers, tried different pillows since my headaches always start in the wee hours... Makes no difference. Etiology unknown. I'll have a good week with no headaches then boom! Four mornings in a row waking up in pain. And about once every 8 weeks or so I'll get a really bad one that does not respond to any meds and will last for 48 hours.I hope you find some relief. God bless.
I’m 57 , your episodes sound very similar to me , tried diff foods and pillows etc , nothing seems to work, I take 12 meds in the morning and thought it was maybe them interfering but i can’t blame them as I can have a run of a week with no migraines , puzzled is about the right word in trying to work it out .
