I have a complex medical history and have some neurological problems but also suffer from migraine. In the last couple of months I have developed a new group of symptoms, whenever I have to concentrate I start to get numbness in the left side of my face along with a overwhelming tiredness that makes it impossible for me to concentrate and I feel quite forgetful/confused. This is sometimes alongside a headache but not always. I did wonder if its the light of my computer screen triggering it but its happened at other times when I have tried to concentrate too.
I'm not even sure if this is caused by migraine but until I have some answers am just trying to find a trigger, if anyone has experienced anything similar I'd be really grateful if you could let me know/offer any information.
Thanks All

I've had chronic migraines for 30 years, they often effect the left side of my face, sometimes you can see it before the pain starts and after for a day or so too. Usually my left eyelid drops a bit. I often have pain around that eye and around my left ear. My nose can get blocked on the left side too. It does happen with my mother sometimes too. It's always been considered just part of migraine by our neurologists over the years.Hemiplagic migraines display very dramatic versions of this with whole body paralysis down one side of their bodies.
Thank you that’s really interesting, I’ve just been reading up on Hemiplagic migraines and the triggers too. I’ve been wondering if light is my trigger as working at a computer screen and night driving are when this generally happens. I used to have terrible problems under fluorescent lights too as it affected my balance.
I was sent for a CT scan when this started to rule out a stroke as it just makes me feel so confused whenever this facial numbness starts.
Maybe you could try some migraine glasses, the shaded ones. Apparently the data on their efficacy is poor but then they are not too expensive or invasive so they may be worth a try?
Thank you, I was talking to an optician recently about those, he said that there was very little evidence to support their effectiveness aswell but like you say worth a try, I’ve been looking at the screen filters too
