Hi. I've just signed up to this forum, and this is my first post.
I've read that vitamin B2 can prement migraines.
Does anyone have experience of this, please? Or is it just another wild goose chase for a cure?

Hi I was advised to take B2 (Riboflavin) by the neurologist after I experienced several visual migraines, where I temporarily lost half my visual field. So far it has definitely helped me, as I have not had such an experience for six months. However I also take a small dose of Amytriptaline each day as a preventative and Sumatriptan when I get other types of migraine. Incidentally if you do take B2 you are likely to have bright yellow urine so don't panic if that happens 😀
Hi Kjac. Thanks for this info. I gave up on sumatriptan. I found that when I started taking meds I had migraines more frequently, and the meds didn't relieve them. GP suggested a daily tablet, but I don't really want to take daily meds. However, vitamins are different, well in my opinon at least.
Can I ask if the GP prescribed B2, or did you just buy it at chemist? The 100 mg tablets are quite pricey, and I've only found one chemist who stocks it.
Hi I just buy them from health food stores. Holland and Barrett and Boots sell them I'm pretty sure, good luck I hope they help you.
Thanks Kjac. I'll give it a go and post outcome when I have a conclusion.
Hi, how did you get on with your B2 ? Did they help? 😊
Hi. They didn't make any difference, so gave up on them. I only tried for a couple of weeks, maybe I should have continued longer, but they aren't cheap.
