Anybody out there taking Cymbalta for depression (30mg) and has it helped. I was put on Effexor and the side effects were awful.

I don't have copd. I was prescribed Effexor ended up put on pristiq instead. Pristiq sure helped hot flashes but made my hair come out by the bulb. Currently on cymbalta for re-acurring depression & chronic pain for approx 6 months with good results other than hot flashes again 24/7.My physician advised me not to stop at 30mg as many say 30mg works great stopping there.. Because cymbalta targets pain & to work self up to 60mg. I still have terrible days but pain all the other days have been cut nearly in half. Cymbalta is a miracle pill for me so far. Another plus No withdrawals when I once had run out. Good luck to you both reaching a happy medium!
