I've just been put on sertraline. . . Is anyone else on them and how quickly did you feel they were working?
Hi, I have taken Sertraline in the past and found that the side effects were not easy after a few days and for a week or so then suddenly I began to find they wore off and within two to three weeks I had forgotten I was taking them but subtly beginning to feel better. It was only looking back that I realised what a difference they had made. Meds do have different effects on different people though and at different stages in depression depending upon its cause, so go by your own experience and see the GP if they are not helping within 3-4 weeks or if they make you feel bad after the first week or two. I hope you feel better soon, Suexx
It took 6 weeks for them to work on me, but unfortunately a couple of weeks later they stopped working. I do know quite a few other people who they have worked for really well and was around 3-4 weeks.
I took these tablet about 4 years ago. Being perfectly honest, they did not work for me at all, if anything these made me worst. as someone previously said, different medication affects people in different ways. Speak to you doctor if you have any worries.

I'm on Sertaline it took me about 4 - 6 weeks to feel any real benefit, then someway down the line the dose was increased, I'm one of the one's it seems to work on! I still have bad days tho..... Give it a chance and maybe you'll be lucky!

Hi I have been on sertroline for about 5 years now. From what I remember they didn't take very long to work - about 2 weeks. I don't have any side effects worth mentioning. I do feel a lot better for taking them. Hope this helps cookie.

Oh forgot to add. I started off on 100 mg a day which wasn't effective enough then I went up to 150. You might need to adjust the dose but only time will tell that.
