While circumcision will not clear your balanitis of itself, it will remove the conditions in which the bacteria thrive (the warm, dark, moist space under the foreskin) and make it easier for medicating creams to get to, and overcome, the bacteria.

If you want to completely eliminate the balanitis and not have it come back then proper circumcision really is the only solution.

In my view there are no cons to being circumcised.

Where in the world are you?

Bacteria are natural and necessary for good hygiene.

Perhaps I should have qualified my statement as 'harmful bacteria'.

Balanitis is seldom due to bacteria. Yeast is the culprit. Too much washing and use of soap is number one cause. Antiotics are number two cause.

1) "No cons"?!? I'd pay a year's salary rather than be circumcised. Why would I want the most sensitive and pleasurable parts cut off? That little bit of skin makes a big difference (it's not just there to protect the glans). All males are born with it for a reason, and there are lots of men circumcised as adults who wish they hadn't been.

2) Circumcised men can have balanitis, so there's no guarantee circumcision will completely eliminate it.

3) Women can have balanitis (some doctors, though not all, use another term), but you wouldn't recommend surgery to fix that.

Circumcised men can get balanitis??

They don't get it as often, but yes, they can get it. The US National Library of Medicine said this last year:

"Data from meta-analyses showed that circumcised males have a 68% lower prevalence of balanitis than uncircumcised males"

yes.

Some info from the people who do the surgery.

It would be very rare for a urologist to recommend circumcision just for balanitis (which can usually be treated without surgery. These links may help, though the third article is written for doctors:

Washing (with water, no soap) daily, and taking a leak and washing after masturbation or sex will probably help, and you could also try Canesten cream or Daktarin cream. Loose fitting cotton underwear may help, and some sites recommend washing underwear with non-biological washing powder or liquid.

(Canesten is also known as Clotrimazole, and Daktarin is also known as Miconazole or these brand names: Desenex and Zeasorb in US and Canada, Micatin, Monistat-Derm, Daktarin in India, UK, Australia, Belgium and the Philippines, Daktar in Norway, Fungidal in Bangladesh, Decocort in Malaysia.)

If it's balanitis xerotica obliterans (BXO aka lichen sclerosus), that's something different, and circumcision is sometimes the only treatment. You should get a second opinion either way if someone recommends circumcision though, especially if you're in a country where male circumcision is common, as many circumcisions simply aren't necessary.

The chances are Circumcision will cure your Balanitis, though no guarantees.

I would advise trying other options first.

There are some balloons that you can pump up that you put in between the foreskin and the head of the penis to make it stretch the foreskin But the problem is the doctors are normally circumcise as a baby They don’t know what they lost and the sensitivity that they lost. and they do not tell you there are different types of circumcisions. a full circumcision that takes off all of the foreskin,a partial circumcision they can takeoff half of your foreskin or leave enough to cover your foreskin to the tip of the penis. a Jewish circumcision and last a failed circumcision that goes and takes off a ring. That’s like a rubber O-ring on the top of the foreskin that it only open so far but closer to the base of the head of the penis it is more flexible so if they just cut that part off, you’ll be able to pull the foreskin back and if you don’t properly take care of it. by stretching the foreskin pulling it all the back for a minute when you pee or get hard or get a bath and grab both sides of the foreskin opening and stretch the foreskin if it hurts, you’re stretching it too far. Or use the balloon

method. Make sure you wash it and air dry it by holding the back until it dries.

Here is some links of men that was circumcise at 18 years old and 30 years old and how they regretted doing the surgery

Dr. Aaron Tobian, who studies circumcision but was not part of the new study, said that previous randomized controlled trials - considered the gold standard of medical research - looked at sexual performance and satisfaction. Those studies, he said, did not find a difference.

One possible explanation for any potential difference in sensitivity is that a man’s foreskin may protect his penis’s head from rubbing against underwear and clothing. It’s possible, the researchers write, that friction makes the head of the penis thicker, drier and ultimately less sensitive.

The researchers also found circumcised men were more likely to report more pain and numbness during arousal than uncircumcised men, which Hoebeke said is likely due to scar tissue.

Even if you do get circumcised if there is scar tissue, it has a chance to close back up again so if you decide to go and get circumcise go to a doctor, ask him what type of circumcision will give me less scarring.

In my opinion, the less I cut off the better
