Open Wound after circumcision?

Hi guys,

Does this look normal 8 days after circumcision?

I feel like the stitches on the left hand side may have split whilst having an erection in the morning and there's been an unpleasant smell now for 2 days.

I called the hospital and they said it doesn't sound like an infection if there isn't any puss/discharge, but I just feel like it doesn't look okay and I'm concerned.

Please, any advice would be appreciated!

Don't panic my friend! It looks fine to me (but I'm not a medic) Mine looked very similar at this same stage, and at 10 days I saw my consultant who basically told me to get on with it, wash in warm soapy water, non-perfumed, to avoid using any Betadine cream (which I'd been using, he said it was too strong and causing me grief - but different to yours) The only thing to add was to use Vaseline if needed to aid comfort. And my circumcision seems to be doing fine. I'm now 27 days post op! For the benefit of those who may be wondering about my journey, by 14 days all bleeding had stopped, no more dressings after the visit to the consultant (!) and by last week a little massaging with Vaseline was quite enjoyable! The stitches had melted away, and by now the whole of my penis is really quite comfortable! (For those who must know, erections are safe and enjoyable, though ejaculation is yet to be achieved) There, I've said more than I intended to share. I shall now slip back into anonymity and my senior years!! 😎

Thank you, I went to the doctor's yesterday and they said everything was fine, just one of my stitches had dissolved too quickly, I have to take it easy and let it heal.

I find it painful when I get an erection and not been able to play with my new toy yet, I'm going to be like a dog in heat soon! 🤣
