Salt bath

I have two questions. What is the reason to give your penis a salt bath?

I am starting week for of my circumcision and I have noticed that I still have quite a few stitches. Do you think they should've all dissolved by now?

Firstly, the stitches do their job in 10-12 days. Removing them after 14 days prevents stitch tunnels from forming and reduces swelling due to excess lymph.

Bathing the circumcision wound in salt water soothes the penis (although sometimes the salt initially stings a little) and helps with healing by drying out the wound.

On soluble stitches please see the att’d NHS document ouh.nhs.uk/patient-guide/le...

You are still early on in recovery. Salt baths greatly help with enabling your healing penis head to obtain some sense of reduced painful sensitivity esp. when it comes in contact with your underclothing or boxers. Keep taking salty baths. Perhaps apply vaseline on your healing penis also after each salt bath and then cover it up with gauze. You should be okay soon.

Also if you intend on having salt baths, do NOT use Epsom salt (MgSO4)

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. Actually I have been filling a large cup with warm water and stirring a spoonful of table salt. I then put my Willy in the cup for about five minutes. Shall I soak him longer? The only problem is that it feels warm and end up with a semi erection.

That’s fine. That was exactly what I did twice a day, in the morning and in the night.

So that helps with sensitivity?

Not necessarily. From what I know it’s exposure which enables keratinisation that helps with sensitivity.

I think that would be more good to use tea than salt water
