I'm 8 weeks post adult circumcision and everything seems to be healing well. I am looking for advice from someone who has been through an adult circ on how the long the scar takes to heal and become "normal"? At the moment it is pretty hard and sore. Does it ever soften or will it always be much harder than the surrounding skin.
While the scar may soften up over time with use of various creams and oils, it will always be a bit more sensitive. You have the remnants of so many nerves at that point. Some enjoy that sensitivity and use it to their advantage.

Cheers Alan. Does the scar ever get as soft as the surrounding skin or will I always notice a difference? Like will it be a bit harder all the time?

That my friend is going to depend on YOU. Everyone is different. All you can do is use various creams or oils to help soften things up. It most likely, will always be a bit more sensitive. Only time will tell. It may take as long as 2 years to finaly settle down.
One thing for certain, the oils won't hurt, they can only help.
It should soften in time, but it will probably continue to be more sensitive than a lot of the shaft. I had a second circumcision over 20 years ago and I love the sensitivity of my scar.
