Experiences of Hysteroscopy?

In late perimenopause and because of various issues I am going to have scans, then I may need this procedure -Hysteroscopy.

Just wondering if anyone has had this? Has been suggested it will likely be under a general.

Never had one before -either a general or a hysteroscopy- so just seeking any advice or experiences please. Thank you.

Not for me... mine was done just as a gynaecologist appointment with no drugs involved Whatsoever. Not particularly pleasant but not much worse than a smear test at the time.A couple of days of cramping and a tiny bit of bleeding.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience and glad it went Ok for you. Appreciate you letting me know re a bit of bleeding and cramping afterwards. Mine would be under a general but guess I may still get that afterwards. Thank you

Hi Swangirl

I had two hysteroscopys - just an internal examination and I felt no pain at all and no anaesthetic was used. I was far more interested in the images on the screen!!! My cervical smear was far more painful. Hope that puts your mind at rest.
