Dose for new to HRT

Hi. I have just been prescribed Estradiol in patch form. I have not started to use them

I have been prescribed 50mg.

On the webpage you recommended "menopause matters" it suggests starting on a low dose around 10mg.

Anyone have any experience of what dose is usual for new users, as I am considering asking my GP before starting treatment. Thank you Eve

To have peace of mind..ask your GP if this is the right dosage for you

I think they usually start you on a low dose & then increase if needed. I started on 50 - then changed to a different type of patch & was on 25 then back up to 50, then up to 75 now back down to 50. My poor body doesn’t know where it is. I’m staying on 50 for the time being to give it a chance to settle. The Pharmacist at my GP surgery who has been doing all this for me says that 50 is the one most women are on. I’d give it a go - try it for at least 3 months & if no improvement then maybe you can increase/decrease. 😊.
