I am a mother of three young children (ages 5, 3 and 1) and can not figure out how to get over this illness. I never spent time in the hospital as I was already feeling a little better once I finally got diagnosed two weeks into my symptoms. I caught a random cold last week and although I am on antibiotics (dr. Is treating it as a sinus infection) I am now feeling viral meningitis symptoms (dull headache, stiff sore neck, hips hurting and clothes hurt my skin). Has anyone experienced symptoms like these this far from diagnosis? How can I possibly get better without total bed rest?

What was the virus that caused your VM? Mine was Zosta virus which is the same that causes shingles and chicken pox. I am on a daily does of the anti viral 'acyclovir'. This keeps the virus under control. That may help to be on a controlling dose. Talk to your Dr.
My VM was caused by the Enterovirus. I was on Acyclovir for two weeks only. I will ask the doctor about getting back on it. Thanks.
