Early detection is a must!

I had what I thought was a cold throughout late January, one morning at work I just lost almost all of my hearing along with an awful headache, I figured I would head home and sleep it off, a colleague had messaged my husband who came to pick me up - looking back now I am so glad, I remember nothing about the trip home or getting inside the house, in fact going home was the last thing I remember for two weeks, turns out I had bacterial meningitis. Once I came around and needed to be moved to a less intensive care I was told there was no bed for me, I returned home and had to return twice a day for iv antibiotics. I was lucky and after a couple of days a district nurse became available to complete the antibiotics. Almost two months after my results came back as clear I am still suffering a 'brain fog' late afternoon and the headaches have yet to go away. A week ago my hair started falling out and although I sound like things are grim I am so grateful for my family being there for me, my daughter had finished college early and my self employed husband was working close to home. I am in my 40's and shown no sign of anything other than having a cold. I had lost consciousness and may never have seen another birthday if they hadn't realised something was wrong.

I understand were you are coming from! I have had two different kinds of Meningitis in my life. viral and bacterial. they are both deadly and need early detection.
