2 1/2 years post bacterial meningitis. From time to time I get bad pain from occipital neuralgia and was wondering if anyone has tried botox to help with pain? Second question, how did your body react to botox when still in recovery stage?

Bacterial Meningitis
My wife has been getting Botox [31 injections) every 10-14 weeks. She feels it helps and looks forward to it but I don’t see dramatic improvement. We get most covered by drug plan but pay neurologist out of pocket as well to actually give shots.
Next day or two she sees “bagged” but no other after effects.
She find Topiramate good for the “pressure behind the eyes” and Gabapentin for general pain reduction. Daily PRNs shift weekly from T3s one week to day to tramadol the next. Sleeps a lot.
Hope this helps.
I have been getting injections for about a year now. I wasn’t quite sure how I was going with the injections until restrictions delayed my injections 4 weeks and I experienced an extensive amount of pain as compared to what I had gotten down to. It’s a bit of a process and it doesn’t work in one hit but I definitely felt the difference in that 4 weeks and how much I have come since getting the treatment.
