Has anyone any idea how long someone will be sedated when having this, he's been sedated 3 days and they are decreasing sedation slowly?

Memory loss headaches confusion fuzzy head irritable leg syndrome fibromyalgia neurological issues complex PTSD depression anxiety panic attacks, prior to the onslaught of BM and sepsis I worked full time as a nurse for the NHS for 42 years
Hello my wife had bacterial meningitis. 2018 .She was sedated for 8 day's. My thoughts are with you .
Hi, I had bacterial meningitis in 2017. I was sedated for 9 days. Apparently this was longer than normal though although reading other replies maybe not! I am fully recovered now with no obvious after effects so there is hope, thinking of you x
My husband was in induced coma for 8 days and in hospital 7 weeks. He was just released and will be an outpatient for 7 weeks. He had pneumococcal bacterial meningitis and sepsis 😭😭😭. Very terrifying my thoughts are with you. My husband came out of sedation when his body was ready. It needs to heal. Message me if you want to connect. Its nice to have support from other spouses in similar situations
After a MRI on Saturday I was told it was a brain infection with sepsis, he is on light sedation and responds to my voice and moving his legs, which is wonderful to me but have been told he could be on a ventilator for weeks, was your husband the same and thank you
He was On deep sedation for 8 days then slowly brought him out. He was on breathing tube and feeding tube also. I would say ten days. Then he was moved rooms and spent total 3 weeks ICU then moved to a rehab hospital for a month. He was on antibiotics iv 7 weeks.
Thanks I feel a bit better reading this, I know he is in good hands, my husband although 71 is fit and active, and has never been a patient in hospital.
My husband was 39 when he was diagnosed. Spent 40th birthday in a coma 😭. He was active soccer play also with a physical job.
Tonight he had a seizure and has been sedated again I'm so worried
Everything ok? Keep us posted. I know waiting is so hard. I spent many days in ICU waiting room
He's having another ct scan this morning will update you sometime today x
Sorry to hear! I cannot even imagine how you are feeling...
I had VM in September 2019 and even though I wasn't sedated by the doctors, my body slept for 5 straight days in the hospital. I was released and continued to only sleep for weeks at home. I know VM is much milder than other meningitis but it just shows how dangerous these diseases are, if with Viral I was sleeping so much.
Hang in there! I have found a lot of support in this website and from Meningitis Now..
Thank you
I’m not sure what is the norm? 4 days is a good sign. My mum was in an induced coma when the brain pressure created aneurysm and she died
