I am so grateful for this community on HealthUnlocked ! I have been through so much these past 4 months and I dont know if I would have kept my faith in my healing if it was not for all these posts from others relating to me. I went from being paralyzed and having no feeling from my ribs down or in my hands, and having complete acute urinary retention (meningitis retention syndrome) to now being able to walk, and even use the restroom without a catheter or laxatives. I still have numbness in my legs and feet but not as severe. I still get fatigued very easy and have to really be diligent with my stress levels and fitness routine, but I am alive and getting stronger. This post is to give all my fellow meningitis survivors some hope and a promise that in time it does get better. Take care of your body and your body will continue to heal itself ❤

Wonderful!! I’m so happy to hear you are recovering and overcoming!!

Thank you for sharing with us!

I’m 1 year post VM and have felt SO much better at the 1year mark myself!

One day at a time, but moving in the right direction..

I’m so grateful to be feeling like myself again and normal again.

It has been a very long and difficult journey.

There is truly light at the end of the tunnel!

I read something yesterday that states how I feel about my experience and recovery..

We fall, we break, we fail.

But......

We rise, we HEAL, we OVERCOME!

Yes we do!!

Thanks to a loving God, who is aware of us and every single detail of our lives.

Prayer=Miracles

Hope you continue to feel better and better!

Hugs to you.

Take care!

Thankyou!! Yea my arms have multiple scars now but are healing. My fiance stayed by my side the whole time and would not let any phlebotomy student prick me , only doctors lol. And I have easy veins to see, my nurses when I was pregnant always told me how easy it was to see them. I agree keep the immune system up!! I take vitamin C daily and juice ginger, tumeric, lemon and celery daily. It seems to help
