I contracted viral meningitis from shingles. I was a very healthy 69 year old. I ski over 100 days a year, ride a road bike all summer, golf, hike, etc and aside from normal aches and pains for my age I would say I was very healthy.
I was hospitalized for almost 3 months. I had severe balance problems (ataxia) and had to learn how to walk again. I am 10 months into recovery and walking but it is very guarded and slow.
My question is:
Why am I so sore across the middle of my chest? I feel like the muscles are a wet twisted washcloth! I am told that is neuromuscular and it will eventually subside.
Has anyone else had these symptoms and does it go away? Is there something I am overlooking with treatments? I take Tylenol and some Cbd gummies for some relief but it is only marginally effective. The neurologist says that it all takes time and I should recover.
Would appreciate any comments regarding this condition.
