I had viral meningitis last year & have been on a fairly smooth, of long toad to recovery since.
Earlier this week, I woke with bad pain at the base of my skull which then started to move up & over the top of my head -just like last year. It’s in the same place as when I was I’ll and it’s worse when I move/do too much. it’s even been hurting to lie down. Codeine/cocodomol haven’t reduced the pain at all.
Luckily I don’t appear to have any other symptoms apart from feeling generally rubbish. The doctor diagnosed sinusitis which I’ve never suffered from before.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if it sounds like something more sinister than a sinus infection.

I'm in my 11th month of VM & it's not done with me yet. I know that pain that you're speaking of & its scary. Yes pain meds may help but my thought is to get to the root of the issue which is inflammation so I take large quantities of Turmeric pills & it helps so much..many times not needing pain meds with them. I take Curamed & one I just bought from Bio Schwartz. I get them from Amazon. Another thing is maybe your doing too much too soon & I find not going on the internet alot helps too. From what I've read it takes around 2 years for the inflammation to go down. Hope this helps. Hope someone else can give their opinion as well. Stay Strong!!
Yes I am actually in the same predicament this weekend too! It reappears from time to time. I'm 1yr and 4mts post VM. Rest, lots of water and listening to your body are the key... I am going to try the Turmeric too though thanks for the advice!
I'm curious if anyone has any opinions on when is the best time to attempt cranium massage?
